David Zipper writes, advises, and speaks about transportation, cities, and technology. A Contributing Writer at Bloomberg, he is currently working on a book about congestion pricing, to be published by MIT Press. David has published 200+ stories in outlets including The Atlantic, Slate, and The Financial Times. He writes often about topics such as autonomous vehicles, street safety, and public transit. A frequent speaker, David has been quoted in The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times and has been interviewed on CNN, NBC Nightly News, and the BBC.
Wes Marshall is a professor of civil engineering at the University of Colorado Denver and director of the Human-Centered Transportation program. A licensed Professional Engineer, his work focuses on creating safer transportation systems. He is the author of Killed by a Traffic Engineer (Island Press, 2024) and has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. Wes has received numerous honors, including CU Denver’s Outstanding Faculty in Research Award, the University of Colorado Thomas Jefferson Award, and CO-WY ITE Professional of the Year, and is a three-time teaching award winner.
